Business Development Manager

Role Description

We are looking for a couple of people to join our Business Development, Sales and Marketing team to support our growth and increase in customer facing activities.

 

The roles available are flexible depending on the skills and experience of the people who join, but it is expected to be along the lines of a Business Development and Marketing Assistant and/or a Business Development and Sales Manager. It is more important to us to find the right person than the job title so if you are looking for something a bit different or between the two roles mentioned, please reach out and have a chat with us!

 

The BD team at JET looks after everything from marketing, PR, and early engagement to bid and proposal writing, to closing sales and signing contracts. We also get involved in project delivery with things like market research, user requirements, and report writing.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Customer facing experience
  • Excellent written English
  • Depending on role, some to extensive experience or demonstrable skills in business development, sales, or marketing
  • Able to easily use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Willingness to learn from and support all team members

 

Desired Experience

  • Experience in maritime and/or telecommunications sectors

  • Website management experience (WordPress)
  • Experience in grant bid writing and customer proposal writing
  • Experience in press and media engagement
  • For a sales role, experience in licencing would be great but not necessary

Salary Range: depends on role so please contact to discuss

Working Hours: 40 hours/week

Location: The role will be based in Farnborough with some flexibility for hybrid working. Will also require some travel for meetings and events, both in the UK and internationally.

Reporting: This role will report to the Head of Business Development, Sales and Marketing

We are a small, friendly team working closely to grow the business. We are looking for people to join us that are equally willing to get stuck in and support colleagues for our mutual goals.
