Business Development Assistant

Role Description


We are looking for a Business Development Assistant to join our BD, Sales and Marketing team as we are continuing through this exciting stage of growth. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape JET’s journey to expanding 5G at sea and to make the role your own.


The role will be flexible depending on the skills and experience of the person joining the team. It is more important to us to find the right person than the job title so please reach out and have a chat with us!


The BD team at JET looks after everything from marketing, PR, and early engagement to bid and proposal writing, to closing sales and signing contracts. We also get involved in project delivery with things like market research, user requirements, and report writing. So there will be plenty of variety to the role!

This role may also involve some UK and international travel.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the team with writing, admin, and customer engagement
  • Organising meetings and follow ups with customers and partners
  • Taking ownership of the CRM system including updating, ensuring actions followed up, and reporting for management and board meetings
  • Event planning and attendance


Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written English
  • Strong customer engagement skills
  • Able to easily use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Willingness to learn from and support all team members


Desired Experience

  • Experience in managing customer relationships

  • Experience in press and media engagement

  • Experience in maritime and/or telecommunications sectors

  • Website management experience (WordPress)

More details

Salary Range: In region of £21,000 – £25,000

Working Hours: 40 hours/week

Location: Based in Farnborough with some flexibility for hybrid working. Will also require some travel for meetings and events, both in the UK and internationally.

Reporting: This role will report to the Head of Business Development, Sales and Marketing
